Day 1 Pick up and transfer to Lake Mburo National Park- Evening & Night game drives Meet and greet with our local Gorilla Trekking & Wildlife Safari guide over breakfast, and then after we drive heading to southwestern Uganda. Have a stopover at the Equator line and take some beautiful pics.
Early afternoon, arrive in Lake Mburo for lunch and check-in. Later start your Wildlife Safari game drive in the night, look out for zebras, topis, buffalo, elland, impala, water hogs, waterbucks and plenty of other animals.
Day 2 Horseback riding and drive to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park After an early breakfast, we start with a horseback riding experience in the jungle to have a close encounter with major antelopes and then we depart for Bwindi Impenetrable Forest via Mbarara town.
We drive through a stunning volcanic landscape adorned with steep-sided hills covered from top to bottom in neatly terraced plantations of bananas, tea, and thick mountain forests to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park.
The Bwindi area is a highly fertile, mountainous region with steep-sided hills covered from top to bottom in neatly terraced rows of cultivation. You are really driving through the “Banana Republic” with banana plantations all around you, steep hills, and small rivers – just amazing Gorilla Trekking & Wildlife Safari scenery. Arrive late afternoon at the park and check in at the accommodation.
Day 3 Gorilla trekking in Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park After breakfast, proceed for a morning briefing before enjoying the highlight of the trip- Gorilla trekking, which may last the entire day. We trek through the rain forest and bamboo-covered slopes, accompanied by a guide and trackers, in search of a mountain gorilla family. Walking can sometimes be tough and long, but when you catch a glimpse of the magnificent silverback, any discomforts will be quickly forgotten. When sighted, visitors will be guided to within 6 meters of the gorillas, and sit around them for a whole hour while gazing into their big round eyes. For conservation purposes, time spent with the gorillas is limited to one hour. A ranger will brief you on how to behave with the gorillas. You may encounter other primates during gorilla trekking such as chimpanzees, L’Hoest’s, red-tailed and blue monkeys, black and white colobus, and baboons.
Day 4 Drive to Queen Elizabeth National Park through Ishasha Sector for Tree-climbing lions and Evening game drive After breakfast, we drive through stunning savannah grasslands as we head to the southern sector of Queen Elizabeth National Park in search of tree-climbing lions. Ishasha is a much more remote and less-traveled part of Queen Elizabeth National Park but has a sense of exclusivity and remoteness. The game densities here are high, and this region has reported some of the largest herds of elephants in Uganda, as it is their main migration corridor between Uganda and the DRC. Have Lunch and drive to the northern part of the park. Check in at your lodge; later head for an evening game drive in the Kasenyi sector.
Day 5 Morning game drive and Boat cruise Early in the morning set off for a game drive in the Northern crater area where there are a lot of dark holes called the black craters with no water. You may be able to see a lot of animal species such as Elephants, lions, buffaloes, Leopards, and monkeys such as the black and white colobus, vervet, patus, red-tailed, and blue monkeys. Other animals that can be seen are the bush pigs and the warthogs, antelopes. This side of the park provides a good view of numerous craters. The activity takes 3-4 hours. Return for lunch at the lodge and in the afternoon go on a boat cruise on the Kaziga channel. This is very rewarding with the aquatic animals like crocodiles, hippos, and many bird species like black bee carmine bee eaters and black bee eaters, Lesser Swamp-Warbler, and Striated Heron among others. This takes 2-3 hours.
Day 6 Chimp trekking in Kalinzu and transfer to the airport Have breakfast and check out for chimp trekking in Kalinzu forest. Come back from the forest and head to Entebbe airport to meet your flight with a stop over at Igongo cultural center for lunch. Proceed to the airport to catch up with your flight back home
