Tromso is famously known for its beautiful nature, thriving marine life and beautiful fjords that are located around the main island. What not everyone knows, however, is how much history and points of interest that are located in these incredible areas. Vikings and Sami people have been living here for more than 10,000 years, and throughout history, the sea has been the main natural resource where societies and villages have been built around the area during this time. We wanted to create a fun, affordable way to explore the amazing surroundings while learning about the history that we find so fascinating. The perfect way to do so is by boat, and to cover as many points of interest as possible. So we have designed a high-speed RIB boat tour, where your skipper and guide safely navigates the fjords and provides a guided tour at the most beautiful and interesting spots in the area. This tour offers the perfect combination between a thrilling experience at sea, and a short history lesson alongside the opportunity to spot wildlife such as seabirds, eagles, and sometimes seals or porpoises (small whales in the size of a dolphin). We don't always see the mammals inside the fjords where this tour navigates, but the stunning nature and fast-paced experience is a really appreciated experience with excellent feedback from our guests. We provide warm safety suits, goggles, gloves and boots to make this Arctic experience in the fjords as comfortable as possible. Your skipper is an experienced, certified skipper and we always keep the groups small (up to 12 people) for you to get the personal experience and connection with our guides that we strive for at Pukka Travels. Before the tour takes off we will meet up at our Base camp in central Tromso for a briefing and to get dressed in the necessary gear to stay dry and warm. The RIB boat is located about 200 meters from the base camp. You will get your own seat and an assigned small locker where you can keep a small bag or a camera safe. During the tour, there will be opportunities to take photos and ask questions when we stop at points of interest. After the trip, we will gather again in our warm lounge and enjoy a cup of fresh coffee or tea.
