A Gentle Pace To Soak Up The Arctic Atmosphere Snowmobiling is the ultimate way to explore the snow covered backcountry of Northern Norway. The Snowmobile Safari in Lyngen the Alps takes the exhilarating feeling of snowmobile riding and turns it into a sightseeing adventure. You’ll pass by the incredible looming mountains of Lyngen and experience the quiet remote nature that inspired thousands of years of folklore surrounding trolls and other forest beings. Two people will share each snowmobile, one driver and one passenger. Everybody with a valid driving license present will get a chance to drive if they wish, swapping positions on the way out and the way back. We've teamed up with Camp Troll to bring you this unforgettable experience. Tours are conducted at a casual 20kph to ensure every member of the group feels safe and can enjoy the beautiful scenery. Children over the age of 7 are welcome but must be accompanied by an adult if under the age of 18. On return to the camp, you’ll be presented with a warm, locally produced meal and warm drinks to enjoy while sitting around the campfire. Vegetarian and vegan diets can be catered for. If you think you may need something to snack on while out on the tour, feel free to bring something with you as you’ll be on the snowmobiles for around 2.5 hours, depending on the weather conditions. A lot of thermal gear will be provided for you: overalls, boots, woolen socks, mittens, balaclavas, and helmets are all included. However, you must bring your own gloves to wear underneath the mittens in the interest of hygiene. Transfer to Lyngen is included in your booking. The bus marked Lyngen 917 leaves promptly at 08:45 from Tromsø’s Scandic Ishavshotel. From there you’ll drive to Breivikeidet and board the ferry as a foot passenger, after which you’ll be met by a member of the tour team to complete the journey.
